Wande Coal, Seyi Law Thrills at Goldberg Beer Re-Launch in Ibadan



It was an unforgettable day in the Ancient City of Ibadan when key distributors and consumers celebrated with Nigeria breweries, foremost brewing giant, in a two-phased re-launch of the Goldberg premium beer. The venue was the prestigious Genesis Hotel, and famous Jogor Centre both in Ibadan. It was a gathering of the high and mighty amidst funfair where Wande Coal, Seyi Law among others thrilled the guests to unending fun. The events reinforced the real meaning of "Goldberg" that is ‘Gold Mountain’, a name that best describes the beer which is made from a unique blend of the finest grains and hops.
Several A-list celebrities, top business moguls and the crème de la cream of the society were well represented. As a follow up to the trade launch, the consumers unveiling of the new Goldberg Beer at the Jogor Centre was an artistic king-like display by the Gold City king which added colour and cultural beauty to the event. An international dance group called Ijo-edi had on display calligraphic moves in tune with the ancient Yoruba cultural settings. It was an evening of adventure as the excited audience watched professional dance steps to the discovery of the Goldberg lager Beer produced with a crisp, distinctive flavour, refreshingly pleasing aroma and a classy Golden hue.
MAVIN Record Star, Wande Coal was busy shunning hits after hits as consumers dig it all night with exciting dancing steps. The notable music act held fun lovers spelt bound for hours with sweet melody of songs like Bumper to Bumper, You bad, Ololufe, I know you like it amongst others. While Seyi Law entertained the guests to his rib cracking jokes in admiration to lovers of good lager beer. Goldberg premium beer is also affordable despite its delightful mix of the finest grains that can be savoured at memorable hangouts.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Walter Drenth, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, said “Goldberg came from the quest to satisfy all lovers of quality premium lager beer and we will never stop giving our consumers the best product and services with the hope of bringing them satisfaction. And to our distributors and consumers, this Goldberg re-launch is definitely going to be a new golden business experience”.
Mr. Drenth reassured consumers that in terms of pricing, Goldberg has a new pricing position different from other beers from the stables of Nigeria breweries.“A lot of our consumers who desire high quality premium lager beer but cannot afford the likes of Heineken, Star or Gulder lager beer now have Goldberg, a premium beer with an excellent bottle look, stamped with a crest of quality and also brewed under the supervision of Nigerian Breweries Plc’ he added.
With several activities lined up for the re-launch, a consumer launch was staged at the popular Jogor Centre in Ibadan which had in attendance notable Super key distributors, fun lover and consumers from across the country. The guests were thrilled with an artistic king-like display by the Gold City king followed by a splendid performance from Wande Coal. Ace comedian, Seyilaw, also entertained the consumers with ribs cracking jokes among other captivating performance in honour of a good lager beer. Goldberg premium beer is affordable despite its delightful mix of the finest grains which can be savored at memorable hangouts.
It would be recalled that Sona Breweries Limited, former brewers of Goldberg lager Beer was acquired by Nigerian Breweries in January 2011. The brand which is pocket friendly also comes in special designed proprietary inviting-bottles, classy and unique in style with high quality guaranteed in every drop sipped.
Nigeria Breweries Plc, the pioneer and largest brewing company in Nigeria was incorporated in 1946 and recorded a landmark when the first bottle of Star Lager beer rolled off the bottling lines in its Lagos Brewery in June 1949. This was followed by the Aba Brewery which was commissioned in 1957, Kaduna brewery in 1963 and Ibadan Brewery in 1982. In September 1993 the company acquired its fifth brewery in Enugu while in October 2003, a sixth brewery, sited in Ama at Enugu was commissioned. Ama brewery is the biggest in Nigeria and the most modern in the world.
